George Rassenfoss, Jr., BSCE 1939, has achieved the record of having perfect attendance with the Rotary Club for the last 64 years. The Paris Rotary Club recently established the George Rassenfoss Attendance Award in his honor to recognize Rotarians with perfect annual attendance. He resides in Paris, Ky.
Jim Carigan, BSCE 1942, was inducted into the 2007 Kentucky Transportation Hall of Fame. He resides in Lexington.
Dr. Louis A. Povinelli, MSME 1956, is a senior scientist at the NASA Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, Ohio. He was recently awarded the Presidential Rank Award for 2008 by President George W. Bush. Each year, the President honors a small group of senior executives and senior career employees who have achieved outstanding results and demonstrated a commitment to excellence in public service.
John R. (Dick) Lyon, BSME 1958, is vice president of Florida operations and program manager for ASRC Aerospace Corporation. He was been selected by the National Space Club Florida Committee to receive its 2009 Dr. Kurt H. Debus Award.
Dr. Dick Edwards, BSME 1962, MSME 1964, Ph.D. 1970, has been retired for seven years. He enjoying sailing, making photographic collages and spending time with his five grandchildren in Florida. He resides in Lexington and Tavares, Fla.
Orson P. Smith, BSME 1971, is professor and chair of civil engineering at the University of Alaska Anchorage. He was one of nine nominees for 2008 Engineer of the Year Award for Alaska.
Marco M. Rajkovich, Jr., BSCE 1977, was named the recipient of KSPE’s 2008 Achievement in Mining Award. He is a member of the law firm Rajkovich, Williams, Kilpatrick & True, PLLC in Lexington.
Charles R. Wesley, BSME 1978, was promoted to the position of Executive Vice President at Alliance Resource Partners. He was also elected to the Board of Directors of Alliance Resource Management GP, LLC. He has served Alliance in a variety of capacities since joining the company in 1974, most recently as Senior Vice President - Operations.
Ruth Dyer, PhD, ME 1980, is associate provost and also a professor of electrical and computer engineering at Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas. She was recently selected as a peer reviewer for the Higher Learning Commission, one of six regional institutional accreditors in the United States.
Dave Macemon, BSEE 1981, is a marketing manager for the Design-for-Test division of Mentor Graphics, where he has also held the position of technical marketing manager. He resides in West Linn, Oregon.
Robert L. Houser, BSME 1982, was promoted to Chief Executive Officer of Hill TMG, an affiliated joint venture company of Hill International, the global leader in managing construction risk. Houser has over 21 years of experience in the construction industry managing major master plan communities and developments. In his role as CEO, he will oversee all operations for the joint venture which will manage major hotel and commercial projects for Talaat Moustafa Group Holding Co., one of the leading residential and hotel developers in Egypt.
Mark B. Goff, BSEE 1983, is a staff system engineer in the transmission operations and maintenance department of the substation/power equipment group for Tennessee Valley Authority. He has developed TVA's predictive maintenance program for substations and is currently working on the development of an on-line transformer monitoring program for TVA's 500-kV grid.
Tim Marinaro, BSCE 1994, is the city engineer for New Albany, Ind.
Charles A. White, BSCE 1994, works at Barton & Loguidice P.C. where he was promoted to managing engineer in the firm's transportation group. He joined the firm in 2001.
Chris Carmicle, BSCE 1997, is CEO of Casual Living Worldwide, the largest division of Brown Jordan International Co., which has annual revenue of more than $400 million. He also serves as president for national accounts and the direct imports division for Brown Jordan International, which bases its operations in Louisville.
Melissa Morgan Cansler, BSCE 1998, was named 2008 KSPE Young Engineer of the Year. She works for the city of Bowling Green as assistant city engineer.
Steven Hayes, BSCS 2004, and Todd Willey, B.S. Computer Science 2008, are founders of Rubidine. They provide custom software development services for businesses. Its specialty is secure, scalable applications built using Internet technologies that leverage large datasets. The company is in Lexington.
Carl Van Zee, BSCE and MSCE 2005 and Erin Van Zee BSCE 2006 welcomed a daughter, Zoey Elizabeth, born February 11, 2009.
Michael Gross, BSEE 2007, married Cassandra Conner on October 25, 2008. He is a quality engineer at Toyota.
Michael Hagan, BSBAE, 2008 and Christie Wall were married on May 23, 2009. He is a product engineer at Cummins, Inc and they reside in Henryville, Ind.
Kylie Scott, BSCE 2008, works as a DPW engineer at Letterkenny Army Depot. She resides in Shippensburg, Penn.
Andrew Fowler, BSME 2009 and Beth Keeney were married on May 16, 2009. They reside in Lexington.
Ricky Williams, BSME 2009, married Lauren Massey on May 23, 2009 in Lexington.
